TOPIC 1- Psychiatric Enlightenment
Ever wondered why are some very smart people quiet?
This individual is Jordan Peterson. I think he's insanely intelligent.
What he does in the picture is silence. He has just been asked a question and he is thinking about how to answer it.
But he remains silent for a very long time, and then he answers - precisely.
This ability to pause and reflect is characteristic of intelligent people. Of course, you always say that stupid people think they are clever. But many really intelligent people also know that they are above average - I think that makes them very self-confident.
You can see it in Jordan Peterson - he has no problem admitting that he doesn't know something. It doesn't hurt his self-confidence.
Smart people often prefer to keep quiet because they usually prefer discussing more serious or complex topics. Those who are highly intelligent and knowledgeable often have specific subjects they enjoy talking about. Casual chitchat or gossip at social gatherings isn't typically their cup of tea.
What many intelligent people I know have in common with me is an interest in more unusual topics. Discussions, abstract ideas, politics & maybe even everyday philosophy - all those things you don't talk about in a large group, late in the evening, maybe under the influence of alcohol.
If they don't have a great interest in participating in discussions, they prefer to keep quiet. There are all sorts of different preferences in conversation.
